Got it.
I've been digging into this a bit and the trick of the whole thing is lining it up with what Google will accept. Unlucky for us there isn't a perfect fit here. THere is no attribute field in the google specification that we can use. Just to be clear we are only talking standard attributes (Not custom).
But here are the options as I see it:
1. Add the attribute list to the end of the description field
Pro: Easy to develop. No additional redmystic server changes required. Large capacity for text. Most people will have no issues including all their attributes
Cons: Descriptions get a bit ugly.
2. Add the attributes to the categories list
Pro: Makes some sense and is cleaner than using descriptions
Con: There is a finite list of categories that google will accept. If a site has many categories/attributes then some will be not included.
3. Add to genre field
Pro: Supports multiple entries
Con: Usage of this field is unknown. It is also not intuitive at all
4. Provide you the option of picking 1,2 or 3
Pro: Let you guys decide the method
Con: More work for me. No big deal though
If anyone has any other thoughts I'm all ears. Here is the Google specification if interested: http://www.google.com/support/merchants/bin/answer.py?answer=160085&hl=en
I'd like to build this into the next release so post your comments
Cheers,
Garry
