Hi Garry,

I run www.aquanauts.co.uk and have always loved your component.

This week we moved our site to a new server and when running the redmystic component we find that it reports a succesful connection and upload of the feed, but the prices do not change on redmystic and google is not notified.

Is this a problem at our end that we can fix?

Is your server validating our IP address which has now changed so it is rejecting the feed?

Or are feeds manual and you're not around to action it cause it's thanksgiving and your passed out with a belly full of turkey somewhere :-) ?

We're just wandering how to get this fixed and thought you might be able to help?

edit: Also we noticed sometime ago that on our site automatic updates were no longer working, however manual product uploads worked fine.... probably not connected but thought we should ask in case we've missed something obvious.

Cheers,

Brian

I've now reinstalled both the component and the module, to ensure they are the latest versions... however it still won't work. The component reports feed success but nothing seems to change on either red mystic or google.

Any ideas?

Brian

Looking in components/redmystic/archive it appears that the XML file is being updated (dated 28/11) but it isn't zipping. The zip file is an old one pre server move dated 23/11

Looking like it could be a server software issue...

Hi Brian,

The first thing to try is changing the  zip compression engine in the redmystic configuration setting:  ZIP_COMPRESSION_METHOD . The joomla version is more widely available but is a memory hog and slow. The other version is much more efficient but isn't as widely available.

The only thing I can really tell you from perspective is that the feed url that redmystic uses is getting redirected on your server. That shouldn't happen. So something on your server is doing that. Normally it's a third party SEF component so check that. Make sure redmystic is excluded from processing.

Cheers,

Garry

Thank you, I was setup to use php zip, and hadn't enable it on my server yet. However a simple switch to JArchive did the trick and we're back up cooking on gas! Cheers for the help
