Hi

New problem, affecting every entry in prods.xml.

Invalid attrribute: price.

The value that you provided for the attribute is invalid.

Examples: Item Nr. Line No.

                       473         7,174

                       730       11,047

                    1,298       19,635

                    1,486       22,537

                    1,710       25,945

Best

Eddie

...........

The problem seems to be the zipped version as the .xml version uploads without error.

I submit prods.xml to Googlebase UK - No Problem

Also, prods.zip to Googlebase US - previously No Problem

However, my base currency is GBP which is fine for the UK but not for USA.

In RedMystic component I have currency_conversion set to Default Product Currency which has been ok up till now.

Do I have to change this to USD for prods.zip and then will prods.xml also be produced in USD. If so, my UK feed will then fail.

Advice, please.

Hey Eddie,

Yep that's the issue then. If you want to post to both then you'll have to juggle things because the component isn't designed to do that. I always thought that shipping costs would negate any ability to be competitve.

Cheers,

Garry

Hi Garry

Is that your response to MY problem as I have never mentioned shipping costs.

I have had no problem, before now, in submitting prods.xml to UK and prods.zip to US.

Best

Hey Eddie,

sorry I wasn't very clear. I am very surprised that older versions worked before with out changing currency. I don't think either would accept the others currency.

A couple of options for you...

1. Use the older version. I stil don't see how that really worked though

2. Use joomfish to manage multiple currencies.  Personally I think this is painful

My point about shipping was that it would seem shipping costs across the atlantic would be cost prohibitive. Maybe your situation is different.

Cheers,

Garry

Hi

Well it was working fine up to a few days ago. It started to fail before installing the latest Redmystic version.

I currently have 1730 items listed for GoogleBase UK (updated yesterday) + 57 listed on GoogleBase US (updated 30-Aug).

It'll not be too difficult to convert the prods.xml to USD and upload that.

As for the shipping being cost-effective, there are many ex-pat Brits in the US who don't seem to mind the postage costs.

Anyway, they are not too prohibitive since most of my items are small + light.

Best

Hi,

The problem is that your submitting in NOK .

http://www.google.com/support/merchants/bin/answer.py?answer=160637

You'll need  to submit in USD , GBP or Euros. What's more your product pages on your site need to match what's sent in the feed otherwise you'll run the risk of product rejections.

I think you're using Joomfish so you could setup price translations. Another option is to use Redmystic currency converter. The downside is that it won't change your actual prices so if google checks your product pages then they'll see NOK and not what you submit in your feed. They'll probably reject those products. The last option is to change the currency in Virtuemart but that's probably not realistic.

Cheers,

Garry
