Google turns out to be the most confusing part of this process. The confusion is in large part due to the plethora of options and tools. Here's a concise list of things you need to do to have redmystic send products to google
- The first you must have is a general purpose Google account. If you have a gmail account then you already have one. If you do not have a Google account then click to create one
- Google base is the legacy system that has been replaced with the "merchant center" for products. Login with your Google account to the Merchant Center.
- Enter you sites information ... More help can be found here
- Create a Merchant center ftp username and password. Once this is created make sure to enter these credentials into the redmystic configuration settings under google merchant.
- When creating your product feed in the Merchant center it is important to exactly match the feed file name with your RedMystic feed file name as set in RedMystic configuration. Remember, it must be .zip.
- It is also very important to tell Google that your feed format is googlebase and file type is xml. Selecting "auto" will not work correctly.
